Cookie Policy

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function, remember your preferences, and provide analytics data.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

These are required for the website to function. They cannot be disabled.

  • Session cookies — Maintain your browsing session. Expire when you close your browser.

Analytics Cookies

These help us understand how visitors interact with our site.

  • Umami Analytics — Privacy-focused, self-hosted analytics. Collects page views, referral sources, and device info. No personal data is shared with third parties. No cookies used (cookieless tracking).
  • Google Analytics (_ga, _gid) — Collects anonymous usage data including pages visited, session duration, and traffic sources. Data is processed by Google. Retention: 14 months. Opt out of Google Analytics.

Analytics is used at the content level. We review which pager hardware articles receive search traffic, which pages have short visits, and which internal links help readers move from a general guide to a more specific operational checklist. That information helps us improve pages about transmitter placement, charging docks, battery rotation, cleaning, and pager return workflows.

Analytics does not operate a live restaurant waitlist. RestaurantsPager does not use this site to page guests, store guest names, assign pager numbers, or record table status. If a restaurant uses a separate KwickOS product or another waitlist system, that product has its own operational data flow and policy.

Advertising Cookies

  • Google Ads (_gcl_au, _gac) — Tracks conversions from Google Ads campaigns. Used to measure ad effectiveness and attribute lead form submissions to specific ad clicks. Manage Google Ad preferences.
  • Google AdSense — Serves display advertisements. May use cookies to personalize ads based on your browsing history. Manage Ad personalization.

Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions

Disabling cookies may affect site functionality. Essential cookies cannot be disabled while using the site.

If you clear cookies or block analytics, the public content should still be readable. You may see less relevant advertising or lose attribution for a form submission, but static guide pages, internal links, and policy pages are intended to remain available. Browser-level blocking may also prevent embedded third-party scripts from loading, depending on your privacy settings.

Google's Cookie Usage

Google uses cookies for analytics and advertising as described in their Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ad Settings.

Updates

We may update this cookie policy as our technology and practices evolve. Check this page periodically for changes.

Material updates may include adding or removing analytics providers, changing advertising measurement, adding a new contact form, or changing how outbound KwickOS links are tagged. Minor updates may include clearer descriptions of existing tools, corrected retention language, or examples that better match the RestaurantsPager hardware content library.

RestaurantsPager-Specific Cookie Notes

RestaurantsPager is a content site about restaurant pager hardware, charging stations, transmitters, and front-of-house queue workflows. The site may measure which guides visitors read, which internal links they follow, and whether visitors use contact or platform links. That measurement is used to improve the content library, not to operate a pager device or manage a live restaurant waitlist.

Analytics events can include a page URL, referring page, browser type, approximate region, screen size, and link-click label. We do not use this policy page to collect pager serial numbers, guest waitlist entries, table numbers, phone numbers, or restaurant customer records.

If an article links to an external service such as KwickOS or Google advertising settings, that external site may apply its own cookies and privacy rules. Review the destination site's policy before submitting forms or account information.

Restaurant operators reading hardware guides should not place guest waitlist data, pager IDs, or customer contact information into any public comment, email, or web form unless the form specifically asks for it and you are comfortable sharing that information with the recipient.

Because RestaurantsPager is a public information site, most visitors can use it without creating an account. The main data distinction is between reading content and submitting information. Reading pages may create analytics or advertising signals depending on browser settings. Submitting a form, sending email, or following a product link may involve separate systems that collect the details needed to respond to the request.

We keep this distinction explicit because restaurant pager operations can involve sensitive customer-flow details when used inside a live business. Public guide pages should help operators plan equipment, but live waitlist names, phone numbers, table notes, order details, and staff records should remain inside the restaurant's operational system. This policy is written for the public content site, not for private restaurant operations.
